As Q271 climbs into Harrington Park on March 4,
2009, it appears that
some wag in the paint shop had an idea for a new tv show:
"CSI Railroads."
Harrington Park offers a quiet spot to photograph trains in the morning at Milepost 16, with convenient vertical parking spaces at trackside. The former train station, now a police station, sits on the north side of Laroche Avenue. Further north, the tracks cross Harriot Avenue and Lafayette Street.
Getting there: From Closter, continue north on Schraalenburgh Road. Turn west onto Laroche Avenue to the tracks at MP 16. Or continue north to Harriot Avenue and turn west to the tracks. From Harriot, take West Shore Drive, just west of the tracks, the one block north to Lafayette Street.
